We were asked to pick a saint of our choice and I choose St Mary Mackillop of the cross and I learnt lots more about her and what her parents names are.

She was the oldest of 8 children with 4 brothers and 3 sisters and
at the age of sixteen she went to work for her family as they were sick and needed money.
In 1866 at the age of 25 Mary adopted the name religious sister Mary of the cross.then Mary suffered a stroke in 1902.
She was the first saint of Australian and was best known as St Mary Mackillop of the Cross.
When Mary was sick in hospital 41,909 people went to visit her in her sick room.
Mary went to work as a teacher in a little country town in south Australia called Penola.
