Memoir - Weka Point

The breeze in my face my head out the window, over the big bumps in Jack’s driveway. 3...  2 ...  1...   splash! through the river we go, water all over the windscreen like an egg smashed on the kitchen bench. I'm now soaking wet but that didn't stop us from  going up to get to the ninety meter water slide.  Right at the top you can see the start of the water slide going down a hill at Weka Point.  I'm first out of the car and race straight up the hill and owowowowow! I am sliding so fast, you can feel all of the sticks and stones under the slide which are painful on your bum.

But the cool breeze is nice on my face from the burning sun shimmering above me. “Splash,” I have landed in the mud pool at the bottom of the slide and that was one of the best water slides. We all headed out of the mud pit  to the river to wash off  all the mud and have a swim before we head home after a fun day at Weka Point.
